Ive directed the AIA's social engagement program since its inception in . Through the program, I help the AIA carry out its mission within the social realm. As Director of Social Engagement, I am responsible for social media strategy development and provide support and expertise to executives, other departments, and special project teamsensuring the right messages are getting to the right audiences through the right social media channels at the right time. Key to my role is having an understanding of the AIAs business priorities and target audiences in order to manage the conception, creation, and implementation of social media content strategies. These strategies enable the AIA to engage with its members, as well as nonmembers and architecture fans, across mainstream social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Foursquare, YouTube, and Instagram). I am creating real-life relationships among AIA members and nonmembers in a virtual world. Through my vision and leadership, in the AIA ranked # (out of associations) in Association Trends Top Social Media Savvy Associations. Association communications is my specialty. Before joining the AIA, I held editorial positions at several nonprofit associations, including the American Public Human Services Association, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, and the American Association of Museums. With strengths in organizational management, innovation, and communication, I take delight in exploring the intersections of business goals, communications, and technology. I am the mother of two awesome kids, and I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am also a fan of classic movies (Hitchcock, anyone) and an avid reader currently in a -Book Challenge (reading books this year) with friends.
