As the sr. director of product at Spruce Media, my daily challenge was to figure out what we should build, what order to do it in, and to make sure everyone is aware of what, why, and how. Spruce is focused on Facebook ad management and has an ads badges from the Facebook Preferred Marketing Developer program. Previously, I spent three years at Webtrends as the director of social products where I drove the development of social products and served as the social media thought leader for the company. I was responsible for the development of our Facebook Analytics as well as our end-to-end Facebook campaign solutions a market first for the industry. I established our partnership with Facebook, making Webtrends of to have three badges out of over PMD members. Prior to Webtrends I was at Voce Communications where I helped architect social strategy for clients such as Intel and Oracle. I also previously spent time as a social marketing manager at Jive Software, and was the owner of Metafluence, Inc., an independent web presence consultancy. In addition to my day job, I also contribute to tech publications such as Mashable, VentureBeat, and ReadWriteWeb. I have been featured as a speaker or keynote at conferences such as OMMA Global, Web . Expo, Blogworld, eMetrics, and Social Fresh. In my free time, I founded Beer and Blog - a blogging meet up hosted in cities from Portland to Tokyo. I also hold a bachelor degree in advertising from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks) and live in San Mateo, CA with my wife and our two dogs, Stanley and Edgar.
