Mark Nathans helps content creators analyze information requirements, create content models, select and customize tools, build authoring templates, and develop training. He has been increasingly involved in the design and implementation of enterprise workflows based on off-the-shelf and customized solutions using XML-based component content management systems. Content is delivered in print and online, on multiple platforms, for a variety of audiences, or across publication types. His years of experience includes designing and developing software user assistance, managing documentation teams, online help development, technical writing and editing, authoring tool adoption, and user interface evaluation. Mark has a strong interest in expanding the domain of DITA, topic-based authoring, and other XML solutions into non-technical publishing and automated business document production. The goal is to maximize the value of legacy publisher assets and shared enterprise content through on-demand, multi-channel distribution. He is currently examining new methods that enable segmented video and other rich media components to be enhanced with metadata and integrated into structured user documentation and other online content.
