Kaitlyn Richards is a senior Broadcast Journalism and Political Science major at Syracuse University with dreams of working as a producer for a major news network. Kaitlyn currently works as a web editor and weekend producer at CNY Central, a news station operating out of Syracuse, New York. Syracuse is a size market and CNY Central covers three channels, the NBC, CBS, and CW affiliates. She got the job at CNY Central after interning there over the winter break of -. Kaitlyn currently produces the weekend show and is the main newsroom manager from a.m. to p.m. on the weekend. She also posts to the web, tweets and posts to Facebook for CNYCentral. Her past internships have prepared her well for the world of producing. She has gotten a lot of hands-on experience running shows at both small and large market sizes. Kaitlyn currently reports for WAER, an NPR affiliate out of Syracuse, covering all local Central New York news. She has reported on everything from trials to art fairs, and loves meeting the many personalities of her hometown. Kaitlyn looks forward to finishing her final year at Syracuse University and finding a place to one-day call her first job in the business. She is always looking for opportunities in markets that will challenge her to think outside the box and constantly be aware of the news that is happening around her.
