In the recent past, I have owned a small business (Homespun Houston Handmade), worked as the Director of Operations at an awesome startup (Whimseybox), and most recently I helped a friend launch a recruiting business (Atlas Recruiters). Obviously, I am a sucker for startups. But what I have enjoyed most in each of these roles is creating a presence on the web. Since finishing up my contract position with Atlas Recruiters at the end of October, I have been learning everything I can about web design and development. My primary method of teaching myself has been through the courses at Team Treehouse.
