Mr. Armstrong began his career during the birth of what is now known as "sustainability". Out of college, he was a member of the team that created the "Electra III" demonstration home in south Florida - which achieved up to energy savings over comparable homes at the time. He participated as an industry representative in the drafting and implementation of Florida's Environmental Land and Water Management Act, and the creation of some of it's most notable communities. He managed large, complex projects from feasibility analysis and site acquisition through planning, engineering, entitlements, construction and marketing. Mr. Armstrong is a creative thinker, challenging his team to incorporate cutting edge practices and technologies to achieve sustainable, practical and visually stunning results. Bonita Bay in southwest Florida where he was President and CEO for ten years championed environmental sustainability before it became a planning concept according to the Urban Land Institute in the publication Great Planned Communities. He was also a key player in the design and implementation of Pelican Bay and the reintroduction of distinctive "Old Florida" architectural elements with their passive energy efficient benefits. Current activity includes a focus on the needs and wants of the "Boomer" generation. He is a licensed Tennessee Real Estate Broker.
