Mr. Morris was appointed to our Board of Directors on February 1, 2000, as part of the Sanders Transaction and has served as our Chief Executive Officer since May 2002. He co-founded Sanders Morris Mundy Inc. in 1987 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer and as a director at the time of the Sanders Transaction. Since the Sanders Transaction, Mr. Morris has served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and a director of SMH.
