Hello! My name’s Dustin, I’m 16 and photography is a hobby of mine. I first started getting interested in photography about a year and a half ago, around August 2010. That was the very beginning. This is when I first started researching how photography worked and wanted to purchase a DSLR. At the time I was shooting with my moms camera, some sony camera. I was really impressed with it too. I started experimenting with manual mode to get the results I wanted. At first I was confused but it got easier. I ended up getting my first (and current) DSLR during Christmas, 2010. It was a Canon Rebel XS, bundled with an extra lens (a 55-250mm IS telephoto). I started taking pictures all of the time and really started to experiment. Lately though photography has changed for me, it has gone from just taking a “cool” close up of flowers with a ton of depth of field to wanting to make a statement, to expressing how I feel, to draw out a scene. I tend to think of it as similar to drawing or painting, just instead of with pencils or paint, I’m using real things. I can’t wait to see where I am with photography in a years time!
