I'm an anthropologist and historical archaeologist with a passion for the past and deep appreciation for how the human experience has remained fundamentally the same even while it has varied across space, time, and circumstances. A special interest of mine is engaging people - kids in particular - with the very real ''magic'' of authentic human history and culture, and promoting awareness of cultural similarities alongside differences within our increasingly global society. My latest project is the Time Tribe, a transmedia time travel adventure for kids 8-13 and their parents, set to launch in 2012. Through an episodic online adventure game, an accompanying set of mini-stories, social media, and real world exploration, the Time Tribe aims to deliver a taste of everyday life in some of human history's most exciting times and places. It's an immersive, collective and yet personalized journey that aims to promote better-informed, compassionate global citizenship in the guise of addictive entertainment. Specialties Archival research, field archaeology, writing, imagining thrilling, yet historically accurate scenarios for intrepid young voyagers to encounter in times and places past.
