Also known as: visualrinse

I am currently employed at The Iona Group, a multimedia agency located near Peoria, IL. There I design, develop and manage web and interactive projects and the client relationships that go along with them. I have developed web presences for Caterpillar, Tyson Foods, Rawlings, Worth Sports, Maui Jim Sunglassess and many more B2B and B2C web sites along with creating interactive experiences for museums like the Museum of Science and Industry and Shedd Aquarium and numerous other tradeshow and kiosk installations. In my part time I am also an instructor in web and multimedia for Bradley University, focusing mainly on standards based web design. Many of my students have gone on to become successful designers or developers in their own right and I feel proud to have been part of their success. Prior to joining The Iona Group, I worked as a freelance designer / developer / technology consultant for 2.5 years. While self-employed, I created websites, games and multimedia experience for clients such as Big Idea’s Veggie Tales, Lego, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, BBDO, Equality Illinois, many independent musicians and various Chicago area businesses. My experience in the entertainment and media field dates back to 1999, when after graduating from Bradley University with a B.S. in graphic design and a minor in art history, I was hired as Web Designer for the Chicago entrepreneur Howard Tullman’s company, Tunes.com. Tunes.com produced websites for Rollingstone, Downbeat and The Source. There, I designed online marketing and sales initiatives for top tier clients like Radiohead, N’Sync, Diet Coke, The X Games, Visa, Universal Music group, Lucasfilm and numerous other household names in entertainment. In addition to stellar web design and development, my multimedia development skills have won me many awards including a Shockwave Site of the Day way back in 1999. As part of the development team on 2002’s Veggie Tales Veggie Carnival Game I received first prize in The Association for Multimedia Communications (amcomm.org) Entertainment Category. Additionally, I have developed some other award winning mashups, like Dekaf, CoolerKreator and Pipelicious, all of which were featured at programmableweb.com. I published an article in Computer Arts magazine in the spring of 2008. I tweet regularly at Twitter and have recently joined Pistach.io’s Flash Pack. I bring expertise in usability, project conceptualization, and technical research and development to any team. My enthusiasm and ability to convey the bleeding edge of technology to the layman is a most welcome addition to a project. I excel at estimating and scoping projects and enjoy the challenges that it brings. I am enjoying my new role as an experience designer or interface developer and relish the creativity it allows me to have in my day. Personally, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Renee, and daughter, Sophia, and the newest addition to the family, my son Liam. I like playing video games and watching American football in my spare time. I’ll never turn down the opportunity to go have a nice Pale Ale or Cafe Americano at a local establishment. I am gradually learning to appreciate wines, but it’s a slow process. If you are interested in engaging my services or the company I work for, The Iona Group, please contact me via AIM or Twitter, it’s probably the best way to grab my attention.,Mobile Geek,Graphic Design
