Notes about Ralph BAYNARD Ralph Bainard, Baignar, or Baynard, etc, was apparently one of the Normans who came over with William the Conqueror. He was sheriff of Essex and London. He was granted Merton in Norfolk along with Hatestuna, or Bunwell manor, which always passed together as a package, until they were sold by the De Greys to the Buxtons.
