I am currently in the process of writing a book about how I've lived with chronic pain and illness since the age of 10. I AM A D.E.S. DAUGHTER, I have been suffering from one form of chronic pain/illness or another for over 30 years, mostly in my abdominal/pelvic area. Ive Had aprox 36 surgeries or procedures in hospital (14 different hospitals + countless docs). I now have a team of 5, and NONE of them agree on what is wrong w/ me or how to treat it. Since I turned 40 last July (for which I was in remission - sorta- and hubby threw me a HUGE party) I have only been able to leave the house for doc appointments, and even then it's 50/50 whether Ill make it to an appointment. I am always sick, vomiting, digestive problems for miles, and the chronic pain started 11 years ago, and has only intensified. Now I also have a prob where my hips are falling apart and open. the bone is failing in the back (sac-illium), I have burrs in both hip joints, and walking is very painful. but im not in a chair yet! I fight with all I have each day, and if I can inspire ONE person w/ chronic pain to FIGHT.. I'll be a happy woman.

What is Nancy Bray's famous for?
Nancy Bayley was an American psychologist best known for her work on the Berkeley Growth Study and the subsequent Bayley Scales of Infant Development. Originally interested in teaching, she eventually gained interest in psychology, for which she went on to obtain her Ph.D. in from the University of Iowa in 1926. Within two years, Bayley had accepted a position at the Institute for Child Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley. There she began the longitudinal Berkeley Growth Study, which worked to create a guide of physical and behavioral growth across development. Bayley also examined the development of cognitive and motor functions in children, leading to her belief that intelligence evolves over the course of child development. In 1954, Bayley began working on the National Collaborative Perinatal Project (NCPP) with the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), where she applied her work to infants. After retiring in 1968, Bayley synthesized her work and published the Bayley Scales of Infant Development, which is still in use today. For her efforts in the field of psychology, Bayley became the first woman to receive the Distinguished Scientific Contribution award from the American Psychological Association (APA), of which she was a fellow, amongst other honorary awards. Bayley was also a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She died at the age of 95 from a respiratory illness.. You can find more here.
