Who I Am For over years-- of which were as a fully retained advisor to Toyota-- I've been a professional advisor, trainer, and coach in the areas of creativity and innovation at the intersection of business and design. Condensed version: I specialize in external audits for technology and life science companies. I provide accounting consultation, training, and support for companies, as I bring the experience from my days as a Controller/VP Finance to help clients find practical solutions to accounting issues. Expanded version: I am a CPA (currently licensed in both Georgia and Texas) who moved to Atlanta in 2008 from Austin where I served the technology companies of “Silicon Hills.” I'm based in CB&H's Atlanta practice, and I manage financial statement audits and consulting projects for both public and private companies. My clients range from angel/venture backed pre-revenue stage companies to multi-national public companies with revenues up to $200 million. I have extensive experience with issues facing venture and private equity backed entities, SEC matters, financial reporting, internal control over financial reporting, and operational accounting. I have assisted clients through a variety of transactions including debt, venture capital, and private equity financings; initial public offerings; secondary offerings; and mergers and acquisitions. During my career I was the Vice President of Finance and Controller for a communications company for four years. I directly supervised all accounting functions including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, fixed assets, payroll, general ledger, and financial planning and analysis. I also helped to manage the sale of the Company for $100 million and subsequently managed the successful integration efforts of the accounting groups of the two companies. I am a member of CB&H’s continuing education initiative and design and lead internal and external trainings on a variety of topics. I currently volunteer on the board of Refugee Family Services and serve as the Chair of the Georgia Aquarium Next Wave Society. I also enjoy coaching my kids' soccer teams (AYSA).
