Lauren is a first year doctoral student whose focus lies in Victorian literature and British women writers of the eighteenth and nineteenth century. She is currently interested in the role that race, class, and especially gender play in the economic systems of the Victorian era, and has recently developed a curiosity for the ways in which different types and processes of knowledge are valued. She also intends to earn a graduate certificate in Womens Studies in order to complement her research. Before CUNY GC, she attended the California State University at Fullerton, where she earned her BA in English with a minor in Womens and Gender Studies, and graduated magna cum laude. She was also the recipient of the Sally Casanova Fellowship, a competitive CSU system program, through which she recently completed a research internship at the GC.read more ...read less ...
