On 30 January 1991, the Kabardino-Balkarian ASSR declared state sovereignty. It is now the Kabardino-Balkaria republic, a federal subject of the Russian Federation. STRC "Kabardinoread more...-Balkaria" (STRCKB) was responsible for the selection process of their participant, for Kabardino-Balkaria debut entry at the Bala Turkvision Song Contest 2015, and planned to joint-participate with Karachay-Cherkessia in the Bala Turkvision Song Contest. However, they were forced to withdraw from the contest on 30 November 2015, due to the Russia–Turkey relations in the aftermath of the 2015 Russian Sukhoi Su-24 shootdown near the Syria–Turkey border on 24 November 2015.read less...
