Growing up in a small southern town (Marshville, N.C.) ignited my life-long passion for building customer loyalty. The retail stores that lined my hometown's only two streets taught me early lessons in how to build loyalty (or not). Today, my passion is empowering firms around the globe to get, keep, grow and win back high value customers. The business world has been good to me I'm a three-time loyalty book author, year public board director of a NYSE restaurant chain, and board trustee of the University of South Carolina Moore School of Business. I am currently serving as Board Chair of the Austin Convention Visitors Bureau. Our bureau's mission is to bring conventions and visitors to Austin. I love this job Here's the scoop on my books Customer Loyalty, which was chosen as a Harvard Working Knowledge book and has been translated into eight languages, Customer Winback (co-authored with Michael Lowenstein) and Taming the Search-and-Switch Customer Earning Customer Loyalty in a Compulsion-to-Compare World, named a "Top Business Book" for by The Miami Herald. Clients served include Microsoft, Dell, Toyota, Marriott, Hewlett-Packard, Radisson, Subaru, SearsKmart Shop Your Way Rewards, Wells Fargo, Western Union, and Sprint. My alma mater, The University of South Carolina, will always have my loyalty. After completing my undergraduate degree, the Moore School's fellowships and work study programs enabled me to earn my MBA owing only . I'm proud to have been recognized as a Distinguished Alumna. But hey, I love the Longhorns, too I've served on the marketing faculty at the University of TX McCombs School of Business. I began my career in brand management at RJRNabisco. I loved working at RJR and got to ultimately manage the corporations largest brand.
