I am a user experience professional in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area (soon to be Seattle area) with a background in both software engineering and human factors. In the course of my career, I have worked both as a consultant and embedded within a team of engineers. I have worked in a number of domains, including telecom, eCommerce, and healthcare. In addition, I have held leadership positions in both the Usability Professionals Association and SIGCHI. Currently, I work as the Sr. User Experience Manager for User Insight within GE Healthcare. My team guides strategy for user and human factors research for software products at GE Healthcare including process definition, best practices, and vendor recommendations. In the evenings, I teach Human-Computer Interaction at University of Texas at Dallas to upper-level undergraduates and Masters students. All of which tell me I probably should be nowhere near a computer. I made my peace with the computer by choosing to help bridge the gap between people and computers.
