It was fun and healthy to grow up on a small farm in western North Dakota USA. I still like horses. I daily rode my horse to school like kids today ride their bikes to school. My horse, Nellie, provided the eight-mile round trip transportation to my weekly piano lessons as well. The two-room, country school I attended featured an on-site horse barn as a helpful amenity to its students. Occasionally, we had horse races after school. In this agrarian setting, I early learned the value of hard work and diligent persistence. This became an advantage that served me well in later pursuing my educational and vocational goals. However, I don't miss Dakota blizzards, deep snow, piercing cold temperatures, windy days, summer hail storms, and crashing thunder storms. My wife Sylvia and I have lived in Lincoln, Nebraska USA since . Our home has been blessed with three wonderful daughters, and we have three very special grandchildren namely, Montana, Mackenzie, and Ava.
