After a "first career" in aerospace engineering, where I was involved in flight testing and aircraft design, since 1994 I have been in the field of media research. I currently lead the Media Practice of Knowledge Networks, a top-15 custom research company. Over the past 15+ years, I have overseen the design, implementation, and analyses of syndicated and custom media research projects for Knowledge Networks' Media Practice and its predecessor company Statistical Research, Inc. (SRI). Research topics have included media technology, Internet and mobile use, and many aspects of television programming and advertising, including sports, entertainment, and news. My clients include many well-known television networks, sports leagues, and ad agencies. In particular, I have designed and directed The Home Technology Monitor™ – KN’s benchmark measure of television, computer, and telephone equipment in the home – since 1995. This on-going research series has given me a unique vantage point from which to observe the emergence of new digital technologies in the home, consumers’ perceptions of these new technologies, and their marketing/advertising potential. I have frequently presented research findings at research conferences and have been called upon by major media outlets and trade journals – including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, The SportsBusiness Journal, TV Week, Broadcasting & Cable, MultiChannel News, Media News Daily, MSNBC, CNBC, and CBS Radio – to provide comments and background context for news articles and features. In 2009, I received the first place award in the CTAM Research Case Study Awards (in a joint submission with NBC Universal) for research associated with the 2008 Olympics. In 2007, I received another CTAM Research Case Study Award (third place, in a joint submission with FSN) for research around the value of viewing of home sports teams on regional sports networks. Specialties media research, television research, sports research, advertising research, sponsorship research, technology research, questionnaire design, research analysis, commentary

What is David Tice's famous for?
David Rice Atchison was a mid-19th century Democratic United States Senator from Missouri. He served as President pro tempore of the United States Senate for six years. Atchison served as a major general in the Missouri State Militia in 1838 during Missouri's Mormon War and as a Confederate brigadier general during the American Civil War under Major General Sterling Price in the Missouri Home Guard. Some of Atchison's associates claimed that for 24 hours—Sunday, March 4, 1849 through noon on Monday—he may have been Acting President of the United States. This belief, however, is dismissed by nearly all scholars.. You can find more here.
