Charles Edward "Charlie" Haden (August 6, 1937, Shenandoah, Iowa – July 11, 2014, Los Angeles) was an American jazz double bass player. Best known for his long association with saxophonist Ornette Coleman, he led the Liberation Music Orchestra. Haden was also known for his signature lyrical bass lines.
