True North plays original modern countryroots rock, simply described by many converts as real music. American music, you can call it that. True North incorporates a traditional rock and roll rhythm section atop fiddle, mandolin, accordion, lap steel, and harmonica to forge its own unique sound. A six-piece group, with several multi-instrumentalists onboard allows for impressive musical diversity. True North released their fourth CD, entitled Dimestore Hemingway in May of . The name nails the intelligent, everyman spirit of this band, states the KC Pitch Magazine. In , True North was nominated one of the regions best bands by KC Pitch and topped the Best Of poll in the St. Joseph News-Press. The band also wrote, arranged and recorded the soundtrack for a PBS Special focusing on life in the Midwest.
