David L. Giroux

Salt Lake City, UT

Also known as: tpvoice

My professional experience is predominantly metals and minerals. My diversity spans a variety of industries and functional roles including (in no particular order) Banking (3 years), Consumer Products (3 years), Medical Equipment (2 years), Pharma R&D (6 years), Retail inventory and logistics (2 years) and Alternative Energy Research (1 year) If the purpose of liberal education (post secondary) is the preparation of well rounded thinkers, then I consider my occupational "liberal education" a valuable adjunct to my professional core ... of greater value to society than the liberal education I received at the university level. This claim I base on my capacity to assimilate new industries and their related environments (i.e. technical, regulatory, academic) with relative ease. My experiences over the two years that have passed have given me sufficient insight to narrow my professional focus. Poka-Yoke is one of the tools of the lean/six sigma kit and one that I think holds the most promise to improve the competitive capacity of the individual, organization and society. So, my professional goal is to seek out individuals, organizations or societies (the latter chiefly through social networking) that are underperforming due to mistakes ... whatever their root cause ... and build the capacity to eliminate them. Specialties Technical Training, Leadership Development, Customer Relationship Management, Project Management, Development Engineering, Process Analysis, Process Engineering
