As a structural engineer I have experience in a variety of methods of construction including wood, steel, concrete, post-tensioned slabs, concrete masonry and structural clay brick. I am licensed in both California and Washington, as well as LEED Accredited. My past projects have included residential new construction remodels commercial and manufacturing buildings large multi-family, low-income and senior housing high school buildings and college housing and mixed use structures. My green building design experience consists of multi-family structures, single-family residential green remodels, as well as combined residential and commercial buildings seeking LEED certification. I have experience with green roofing, designing for alternative heating and energy systems, low impact development and LEED structures. I am also interested in straw bale construction, green roofing, and on-site renewable energy systems. Professionally I am all about communication and collaboration. I believe a open dialog with co-workers to brainstorm solutions is vital and a strong relationship with clients from project inception through construction is a crucial part of a successful business. I pride myself on being honest about my strengths and weaknesses while attempting at all times to develop myself as a better engineer. In I started a blog about sustainable economics which lead to co-founding the Post Growth Institute in , an international group of volunteers inspiring and implementing new approaches to global well-being without relying on unsustainable economic growth. In I took my web development to the next phase and started a consulting business - building sleek, custom websites using WordPress. I have designed websites for non-profits, bloggers, and for-profits. In my free time I enjoy being outdoors with my son and my wife.
