I'm Jim Mitchem, copywriter. In 2001, I launched smashcommunications, llc. as one of the first 'virtual' advertising agencies in the country. In fact, if you google 'virtual ad agency,' we come up near the top. Not because we still promote our virtual model, but because of how long ago we actually did. We are a diverse group of communications professionals who outgrew the traditional ad agency mold and latched onto the power of digital media to grow our networks and expand our entrepreneurial endeavors. Whether we're refreshing or building brands, developing custom mobile applications in support of a product rollout, developing advertising campaigns across media, or consulting with clients on how to best utilize social media for their organizations - we are communicators first, everything else after. In the past we specialized in high-profile brand development and advertising - and we still do. But because everything changes, we've shifted our core services away from how brands act in traditional media, to how brands interact with their customers in new and emerging media.
