Scott Butcher is an experienced professional services marketer, published author of articles and books, avid photographer, and public speaker. He has held a marketing professional certification since . A Fellow of SMPS, Scott has also been honored with such awards as the Central Penn Business Journal Forty Under and Leadership York Outstanding Alumnus of the Year. He holds a BS in Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University and certificate in professional photography from the New York Institute of Photography. Scott leads the marketing and business development programs for JDB Engineering and affiliate companies, specializing in the Architecture, Engineering Construction (AEC) industry. In this role he manages the marketing, proposal, sales, and communications functions. Scott has been specializing in professional services marketing for more than two decades. He also serves on the company board of directors and chairs the inter-company professional development committee. As an author of more than dozen books, Scott has been able to combine his passions for writing, photography, and history into a high profile "hobby." His first book, "Marketing in the Building Industry," was published in , and he is currently completing his th and th books, including one about reputation management for AEC professionals. He is also an accomplished speaker, presenting to AEC audiences in seven states. Scott has a love of public speaking, and has been given the opportunity to do so times over the past seven years Dedicated to his profession, industry, and community, he serves as a Trustee, president-elect, and Thought Leadership Committee co-chair for The SMPS Foundation, the AEC industry's leading source for marketing and sales intelligence. He also serves as a director of the Central PA Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and has served as a director andor officer of many local non-profit organizations.
