I am the Social Strategist for IBM PureSystems. I hold overall responsibility for developing social engagement strategy and managing execution teams to develop positive social networks, interactions, and overall user experience. I have led social strategy for IBM Software, Cloud Computing, Mobile Enterprise, Service Management and Tivoli Software and web strategy for Systems and Technology Group Business Partners. As a software engineer, I also developed UI designs for IBM Storage Software product development team. I have worked in the area of social media and user experience for the past eleven years at IBM and hold a wide range of experience in strategy, marketing, community development, user-centered design, user interface design, market research and usability testing, Web and content development, social listening and analytics, and SME recruitment and management. I defined the role of a social strategist in IBM Software and launched the first ever social listening center at IBM to convert intelligence on online conversations, influencers, and influential domains outside ibm.com into actionable insights and enable IBMers and advocates to develop thought leadership, innovation, and preference for IBM. I hold several patents in digital and social technology innovations and regularly drive product requirements into IBM social and analytics solutions. I have recruited and trained over K IBMers to participate in social media. Prior to joining IBM in , I taught Communications, Web design and English in the university for years. I was also a mulitmedia consultant for Starwood Hotels and Motorola. I have an MS, Summa Cum Laude, in Rhetoric and Communications from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MA, Summa Cum Laude, in Rhetoric and Composition from Arizona State University.
