I picked up a camera for the first time as a young child and haven't been without one since. I've been photographing in one format or another for almost years now. I don't believe in heavy editing of photos. At least of my photos are out of the camera as shot. Also, I don't like being pigeon holed into one genre of photography. I'd rather do several types well than one type great.
