Having spent a considerable amount of time in developing countriesseven childhood years living in Latin America, four summers working in Central America the Caribbean, and a semester studying abroad in IndiaI developed a passion for poverty-related social justice issues early on. Following college, I dedicated myself to a year of post-grad service in the Bronx as an Augustinian Volunteer where I served as the Activities Education Coordinator at Siena House, a homeless shelter for women who are pregnant or have a child under the age of three. After working as a nonprofit professional for a few years, I have decided to pursue a Master's degree in Social Work. I am greatly interested in addressing poverty and homelessness issues as a means to help disadvantaged people improve their quality of life.
