Megan Burns is the Founder and Managing Director of Operations Strategy Consulting, LLC. She has more than 15 years of industrial engineering and supply chain management experience in the manufacturing industry. Megan works with small- and mid-size companies to improve their operations and increase profitability. She has spoken at industry conferences and her articles have appeared in both regional and national publications. She also publishes a monthly e-newsletter, "The Manufacturer's Edge", that gives practical advise on managing manufacturing and supply chain issues. Outside Operations Strategy, Megan has taught operational excellence on behalf of the Pennsylvania State University - New Kensington and the Westmoreland County Community College. She has also been a guest lecturer at Duquesne University. Megan began her career as a Plant Engineer with GE Transportation Systems. During her tenure with GE, she held various operations management positions, including managing a 65,000 square foot manufacturing facility with 175 employees. Megan has several years of global source development experience and has negotiated multi-million dollar contracts. She has worked with companies throughout North America and in 14 different countries. Megan holds a B.S.M.E. from Gannon University ( Erie, PA) and an MBA from The Pennsylvania State University. She is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.).
