For years, I worked at Alabama's largest and most popular web site, which is also the state's largest news organization. In the ever-changing Internet landscape, my responsibilities have constantly evolving, and I have always adapted quickly to those changes, while at the same time looking two steps down the road to anticipate future trends. As social media has risen to the forefront for both recreation and business, it has become more apparent than ever that the audience is king. I understand the benefits of empowering that audience, curating communities for them, and joining their conversations -- without losing sight of the organization's image and journalistic integrity.
