A well-rounded communications professional with a passion for building communities and empowering people to take social action, Michele Matthews has worked in almost every facet of the communications field. Her experience ranges from issue advocacy, public policy communications and public relations to marketing and on-line engagement strategy. Matthews cut her teeth in the field through serving advocacy and social change organizations, ranging from the New York Urban League and Bed-Stuys Project Re-generation as a teen to the Independent Community Bankers of America and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization's Hospice Action Network as a young professional. Michele began her work as a volunteer at the age of 14 and has continued on the path to help social change organizations better engage with their stakeholders throughout her career, leading her to start her own strategic communications consultancy that does just that.
