I write about the intersection of business and government in Washington for The Dallas Morning News, Texas' leading newspaper. I am especially interested in energy policy, banking oversight and the impact on Texas businesses of immigration and healthcare reform. I also keep an eye on how Texas businesses seek to influence policy in Washington. If you have a comment, question or news tip, get in touch. My other interests include legal affairs, the ways cities are designed and, as a recent John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford, human-centered design as promoted by the d.School at Stanford. In addition to my work for The News, I have been a long-time contract writer for TIME, where I have written scores of pieces about national legal affairs and other issues. Specialties Investigative reporting, legal analysis, public policy and writing for the web. I am a long-time blogger and increasingly comfortable with multi-media production. I have a law degree, and am a former university adjunct lecturer in media law.
