I'm a graduate of the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas, one of the top five journalism schools in the United States. I refuse to be uninterested. I'm an early adopter of social media (who is still incredibly bitter about losing Google Wave). There isn't a day when I'm not checking Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest and Reddit with a cup of tea in hand. I love to discover cities and neighbourhoods through photography and location-based social media and write about everything I've found. I've written about the effects of coal plant pollution on the residents of my college town, about meditating with Kansas Buddhists (yes, they exist) and about seducing people to try veganism through sexuality. I've waded through hundreds of pounds of trash to document the amount of recycling being thrown out. I've tagged fish and cored holes in trees to calculate species diversity. My interests and experiences are diverse and might not always seem strung along the same thread, but I take up any kind of project with the same interest and dedication, knowing that it can easily be what I fall in love with next.
