Kim started KDR PR with a passion for engaging with the community and encouraging new collaborations between non-profits, business and education where arts and creativity are blended with science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to become STEaM. She works with arts and STEM non-profits, schools and life science companies as an extension of the team and an ambassador of the organization's message. Kim develops tailored PR plans based on the needs of each client. For the media, she shares stories in unique and compelling ways that have secured the attention of local, national and trade reporters such as Shape, Reuters Health, Inc. Magazine, Fortune Small Business, Consumers Digest, San Diego Magazine among others. KDR PR is also collaborating with UCSD Extension on a STEaM organization that will bring all STEaM organizations, events, resources and opportunities together under one umbrella for the first time. Prior to starting her consulting business, Kim managed corporate communications for biotech companies for more than six years. Distilling complex life science stories for the medias consumption gave Kim the opportunity to be creative when it didnt seem possible. She blends the sophisticated approach of life science communications with a fresh, creative approach to each of her clients. Kim currently sits on the board of the BIOCOM Institute, the San Diego Advisory Council for Art of Science Learning, involved with the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture, and a member of the San Diego Regional Arts and Culture Coalition. She is also a member of the arts education task force with CREATE CA that wrote a new Blueprint for Creative Education through the California Department of Education. Kim also provides PR support for community projects and events such as TEDxYouth@SanDiego, San Diego Innovation Alliance, DNA of Creativity, Art Meets Fashion and Exhibit Ambush.
