Isaac is a journalism, pop-culture, visual art, performing arts, and literature enthusiast working in non-profit communications in Louisville, Kentucky. At Walden Theatre, Isaac manages public & press relations, marketing, events and volunteers, all print assets (programs, posters, brochures), and all electronic communications (including eNewsletters, the blog, and the Walden Theatre website). In his first year, Isaac earned substantially increased coverage of Walden plays and programs in the Courier-Journal, LEO Weekly and on local television, and he saved the organization thousands of dollars by bringing print and web work back in-house. In his work managing volunteers and events, he's overseen a substantially increased level of parent and supporter involvement, doubling the number of volunteers and contributors for annual events.Before joining up with Walden Theatre, Isaac was a freelance writer contributing visual and performing arts reviews and analysis for a local online news source and articles for publication by an area chamber of commerce.His master's capstone project included a 3,000 word feature article about the hand-rendered copy of the Courier-Journal newspaper's front-page completed by the Turkish artist Serkan Özkaya for April 10, 2009. A translation of the article was published in Sanat Dunyamiz, the leading art journal in Istanbul, Turkey. Later, the article was collected in the book of art and essays (sold inside a large tin can) Today Could Be a Day of Historical Importance about recent art projects by Ozkaya.Accompanying the article, Isaac wrote, edited, and produced a Soundslides multimedia project to put Özkaya's work with the C-J into the context of the artists's other international accomplishments.Before returning to Louisville, Isaac interned with Forbes in New York City where he wrote stories and compiled slideshows for the popular website. Prior to that, he reported news, wrote scripts for broadcast, and edited audio in the newsroom of public radio station WAER 88.3 F.M in Syracuse, N.Y. He earned the MA in Arts Journalism from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in 2009.
