The Institute for Justice & Democracy in Haiti (IJDH) fights for the human rights of Haiti's poor. In collaboration with the Bureau des Avocats Internationaux (BAI), our sister organization in Haiti, we lead international litigation on behalf of Haitian human rights victims, work for a more just U.S. foreign policy towards Haiti, and represent earthquake victims, political prisoners, and survivors of violence against women. BAI's most important case was the trial in 2000 of the 1994 Raboteau Massacre. BAI is led by Mario Joseph, Haiti's most prominent human rights lawyer.
