MBA qualified (1999), a professional Chartered Marketer, a member of the Institute of the Motor Industry with strategic marketing experience in the automotive, leisure and travel industries. I am passionate about the need for better marketing to women in the UK motor industry. For example, when looking for motoring or garage services, women want to know who are the measurably best (and therefore safest) and genuinely FEMALE FRIENDLY businesses when they're buying a car or the likes of garage services. An independent endorsement from an organisation like ours (FOXY Choice) matters in an industry with a poor reputation for getting things right for women. In fact I'd go so far as to say that in many instances there is a yawning female service gap called mistrust; to bridge it the industry and individual businesses need to understand what their target female audience REALLY wants... and they don't want to be treated like men. Which is a great sales opportunity for those businesses that ARE getting it right for women of course. We like to see female staff in customer facing roles. This makes business sense because women trust women, especially in areas like garages and showrooms that are perceived to be male dominated. With this in mind I joined the Institute of the Motor Industry's Automotive Careers Champion network to encourage more young women into exciting careers in the motor industry whatever their talent; technical, marketing, sales, administration, IT or finance functions. I am also a Committee member of the Sussex branch of the Institute of the Motor Industry.
