Just submitted my first Supreme Court brief, an amicus curiae brief in the case Alice Corp. vs. CLS Bank (which is about the limits on software patents, generally). You can read it here bit.lydvS After two long careers in techfirst as a nuclear engineer in the Navy (where I was Chief Engineer of nuclear warship), and then as a technology executive in the software space (where I ultimately was CTO at Genesys and Nuance, and CEO at Aria Solutions), I now practice patent law, representing inventors, startups, and growing technology companies around the world. I am also a serial inventor with US patents and many pending applications. I provide Patents service patent and IP strategy counseling, patent prosecution, patent litigation (in the PTO directly, and as a litigation consultant in cases before the Federal courts). While many of my clients are, not unsurprisingly, in the software field, I have also have clients in mechanical and electrical areas, as well as medical devices and biotech. Finally, I provide many of my clients iStorming service to help them get "From Intention to Invention". This is a fast-paced tailored brainstorming session oriented around each client's intentions (strategy) and technologies. We usually develop several new patentable ideas per session, and they are aligned with the business' strategy, which is key.
