I have been been involved in various facets of the IT industry. I have had the opportunity to gain communications skills during my job as Technical Support Engineer. I then moved on to Windows based application development and worked extensively on the automation of PowerPoint. After working as a developer for 2 years I was then handed the responsibility of managing the development team as a team leader and subsequently based on my performance and working methodologies, I worked as a Project Manager. After my stint as a Project Manger, I started looking for a more challenging work and at the same time I felt it was the right moment to jump into the idea of being an independent consultant, which is when I started working as a Freelance Web Consultant for the next 3 years. During this period I went gained hands on experience on various Business aspects. I learnt a lot about building and running a business, how important are the right people, how to manage business in times of recession & cost cutting, how to manage people optimally, the financial aspects, the role of various mediums in marketing and lots of minute yet critical aspects. I then moved to Canada and it was like making a new start to my career with the advantage of having good experience in lots of aspects of the IT industry. But, a new country presents its own personal and professional challenges. And, I stood in those times of struggle and started my first (and current) job in Canada as a Senior Developer in MacLaren McCann.
