I am employed as the Telecommunications Engineer at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. My responsibilities include designing and implementing voice and data networks, engineering network infrastructure and project management for new construction and renovation projects, writing RFP’s, preparing budgets, manage voice systems operations for all campus facilities I recently retired from the position of President of the International Nortel Networks Users Association (INNUA). I have been an active member of INNUA for the past twelve years, and have held a number of positions at both the local and international levels. In addition to the responsibilities of being President, I serve as chairman of the Joint Strategic Council with Nortel, and Executive Committees. My involvement on the Board of Directors also has also included serving as Mid America Regional Trustee, Chairman of the Customer Owned and Maintained Systems “COAMS” special interest group and as a member of numerous committees and task forces. As a workshop presenter at INNUA's annual conference Global Connect, I have presented over a dozen workshops on a variety of topics. I also have served as President of the Oklahoma Nortel Telecommunications Association of Professionals “ONTAP” from 2002 – 2004. As member of the University faculty as an Adjunct Instructor of Telecommunications Management in the College of Business & Industry, I have taught a variety of courses in telecommunications and electronics: ranging from Signaling / Transmission Theory and Networks, Integrating Voice / Data and Video, PBX Management and Administration., Digital Electronics, Basic Electronics, and Special Projects in Industrial Technology. I have been actively involved with the Tahlequah / Cherokee County Emergency Management agency as a member of their Command Team and Training Officer since 1991. I also serve on several boards in the Education and Emergency Services sectors Specialties Project management Telecommunications Management Infrastructure design Volunteer Leadership Creative problem solving / Thinking outside the box Putting square pegs in round holes.
