A year in review ... 2005 I started the year in India where I spent the next three weeks celebrating my friends wedding. Next I headed to Park City, UT and the Sundance Film Festival. The sheer dichotomy derived from witnessing a materially poor, spiritually rich people to the insincere opulence of Hollywood moved to a mountain town was an interesting experience to say the least. Not to mention that halfway through I found myself on a slight detour to Vegas for an old roommates friends bachelor party. Four days later we made our way back to the Mormon capital of the world and my flight to Argentina where I spent a wonderful week and a half exploring Buenos Aires. My Argentine architect amiga was beleaguered with work and joint project with DELFT grad students, but nonetheless found some time to show me around the city. If I spoke Spanish, Id probably still be there The spring and summer found me back in Chicago working the weeks away and filling my weekends with everything from beach volleyball and barbecues to road trips for friends and family functions. June held a San Franciscan style wedding while August had a double ceremony (Hindu and Christian) in Texas along with a civil ceremony that same weekend back in Chicago. Slated for September and October were three separate weddings in Ireland, Indiana, and Michigan respectively; however, the devastation of Hurricane Katrina brought all of that to an unrealized end. Instead, I found myself lent to FEMA for a volunteer detail along the Gulf Coast. I returned just before Thanksgiving and aftermath that is holiday season hit, which made (re)adjusting an out of the ordinary adventure, one thats probably still going on to some extent. Christmas at the parents was all well and good until I bashed my head on the low hanging ceiling. An ER visit and eleven stitches later I was driving my way back to Chicago and a very easygoing New Years celebration at my apartment.
