After graduation, John was named a Bedsole Scholar and attended the University of Alabama on full scholarship. There, he received a Bachelors Degree and a Juris Doctorate (Law Degree), was a Senior Editor of the Law & Psychology Law Review, involved with the Student Government Association and undertook many other activities, including taking a heightened interest in all things NCAA, Compliance and, of course, football. After graduation from law school, John accepted a judicial clerkship in Mobile before moving to Jacksonville, Florida. John is licensed to practice law in Florida, Georgia and Alabama, as well as in many Federal Courts. He became a named partner in the firm of Dore, Lanier & Phillips at age 32 and left Dore & Phillips at age 35 to pursue BTSA, and join forces with Morgan & Morgan, the Southeast's largest advocacy firm. He left to focus on the individual client's needs. As a trial lawyer, John has been recognized as a leader in the industry and accomplished attorney by several regional and national entities and publications. His peers have rewarded him with some of the top ratings his profession offers. He has acclaim and was recently the #1 searched/viewed attorney in his home of Jacksonville and in the top 50 out of well over 1 Million attorneys nationwide by Martindale/Lexis-Nexis.
