I'm currently based in Washington, DC with the U.S. Department of State, and have been assigned to begin work at the American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. Previously, I have worked with other government agencies, the private sector, and non-profit organizations. I've worked and studied in Europe, Asia, South America, and throughout the U.S. I received my masters degree from the UCLA School of Public Affairs (Department of Public Policy) and my BA from BYU. Besides work, I enjoy being involved in a variety of community and civic organizations. I am a member of the Japan America Society. I am been involved as a member of the Board of Directors of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and also on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Maritime Museum. Previously I was a very active participant in the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, the Pacific Council on International Policy, the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce, the Southern California Public Affairs Council, the International Visitors Council of Los Angeles, the American Translators Association, Foreign Policy Association, United Nations Association of America, etc. Specialties I speak English, Portuguese, and Spanish, Japanese, and Mandarin Chinese. I have a working knowledge of German and French (written). Additionally, I have studied Arabic, Latin, Greek, and Russian. I am experienced in grassroots politics, political risk advisory, consulting, editing, event planning, social media, anlaysis, research, multilingual translation, econometric analysis, and policy analysis.
