“What keeps individuals motivated? What gets team members focused, collaborating, and acting effectively for a common purpose? What keeps organizations productive and agile?” These are the questions that drive my passion as a business leader, and philosophy as an executive coach and consultant. In 1990, this inquiry proved so compelling I launched 2130 Partners, my executive leadership development and education firm. I continue to make these questions central to my work. They are also the foundational questions that drove my approach to my book, “Accelerate: High Leverage Leadership for Today’s World,” which I co-authored with my wife and business partner Suzanne Frindt. As an executive coach and consultant, I draw on decades of operational management, executive and non-profit experience. Prior to founding 2130 Partners, I held executive positions in mining, heavy construction, nuclear plant construction management, real estate acquisition and investment management. In addition, for 30 years I have been an investor and activist with The Hunger Project, a global strategic organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger. My lifelong study of leadership and team work continues to be enriched by my role as a Group Chair for Vistage International, Inc., the world’s leading CEO membership organization. Since 1994, I have facilitated groups of CEOs and senior executives for Vistage. I have been the recipient of the Vistage Annual Chair Excellence Award 13 times and am consistently ranked as one of the Top 20 Chairs. In 2007 and 2009 I received the Master Chair award. Also in 2009 I became a Best Practice Chair and began mentoring the Chairs in the South Orange County area. In January 2010 I added the role of Best Practice Chair for the Pacific Northwest. Combining my work with 2130 Partners and Vistage, I have facilitated more than 1,000 days of workshops and meetings and have logged more than 13,000 hours of executive leadership coaching.
