Robert Hu is the president of Sight Inc, a consultancy based in Belmont, California. Robert Hu co-founded Collabria and served initially in product management and later as VP of Strategic Marketing. As VP of Strategic Marketing, he was successful in creating initial category awareness of a new web services and drove the product strategy to be the category leader and premier brand for Collabria’s mainstay product. His background in product development processes, supply-chain management, technology adoption, and marketing brings practical management experiences to bear on strategy marketing issues. During mid 1990’s, with the convergence of electronic publishing and the Internet, Robert Hu founded DigitalGraphics, anticipated the emerging need for companies to connect business processes via the Internet by developing a number of supply-chain applications for the graphic arts industry to streamline his business. Apple Computer mandated DigitalGraphics’ technologies to be licensed to other print vendors in order to leverage the cost savings in purchasing and procurement of their printed collaterals. Subsequent development and refinement of these web-based business tools for the graphic arts industry eventually resulted in venture capital funding for Collabria in 1997. Prior to DigitalGraphics, Robert Hu was CEO of A&a Printers in Menlo Park, California. Robert Hu is widely known for his evangelism and development of “Virtual Manufacturing” concepts while the graphic arts industry was adapting to the new electronic publishing paradigm. Robert Hu had served on customer advisory boards for Agfa Corporation, Adobe and others. He received a Semi-Finalist Award for the 1996 National Information Infrastructure Award as well as industry awards.
