A unique bi-monthly lifestyle magazine, Stranger offers a dynamic new perspective: a flavour of life in Britain today that doesn’t just revolve around the nation’s capital. The magazine tunes into the alternative, creative, non-metrocentric side of our culture, presenting a mix of lifestyle, environment, current affairs, music, fashion, surf and skate features with an aim to engage and inspire the 18 to 40-year-old Stranger reader. Launched in October 2004, Stranger is now on its 15th issue and is distributed in Borders bookshops nationwide and lots of lovely independent outlets, record shops, surf/ clothing/ skate/ shops, independent cinemas and galleries across the UK. The magazine is produced from non-depletive, sustainable resources (80% post-consumer waste recycled paper and vegetable-based inks). It has a cover price of £1.50, and over 500 subscribers around the world.

I am Sergeant Gary Watts, the Neighbourhood Team Leader (NTL) at Falmouth responsible for Arwenack, Penwerris, Trescobeas  and Boslowick beats. I joined Thames Valley Police from the Royal Air Force and transferred to Devon and Cornwall Police in 2001. In both forces I have had a broad range of experience including patrol, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Proactive Units and Neighbourhood Policing. The majority of my service has been within Neighbourhood Policing as a Beat Manager, Team Leader and as the Force PACT Development Officer involved with the training and development of Neighbourhood Policing. I am proud to be responsible for schemes that are widely used in Cornwall including Street Reps and Speed Watch. Falmouth is proving to be a fantastic place to work. The area and people are extremely diverse and present challenges and experiences you wouldn't get elsewhere.
