KRS-One Having already gained the respect from his Hood, Jay i is now utilizing his skills behind the mic to gain the respect of the music industry. Born Joseph Isaac Turner in Oceanside, California, Jay i has already experienced more than several rappers claim in their hit singles; yet, past run-ins with law, pain and hardship can't stop this young Hip Hop artist from unleashing his raw talent. Jay i discovered his love with music after winning a Hip Hop contest at the age of 14. Going by the name of "Tiny Bamm," the Cali emcee, started his music career with Corrupt Society Records, which subsequently led to a feature on a Keith Gottie compilation. Shortly after, he released his debut album, Tha G Perspective in 2003. Despite a positive start, Jay i's dreams of Hip Hop stardom came to an abrupt halt in 2005 after a murder case resulted in him being incarcerated for two years. The case was eventually dismissed, but not after Jay i set his sights high while focusing on his clever flow, captivating hooks and universal appeal. Influenced by the leaders of the rap game such as Tupac, Lil Wayne, TI and 50 Cent, Jay i awaits his turn as the leader of the new school. With his "talk about it, be about it" attitude, the future hit maker is ready to dominate; incorporating his extreme day-to-day lifestyle on the streets into his writing and performances.Jay i's current album is set for a March 2011 release. "After all I have been through, I have a much more positive outlook on life," says Jay i. "Here I am, this is me, and I love the direction I am headed in."With a solid rap sheet behind him, Jay i is set to unleash his Hip Hop persona to another level.
