“Good designers (and writers and artists) make trouble.” -Tibor Kalman I’ve been in the graphic design field for over 10 years because I’m passionate about what I do. My experience ranging from agency to in-house settings and working with clientele at the local, national and international level has molded me into what I like to call a Well-Endowed Designer. The Well-Endowed Designer has a throbbing right brain filled with creative potential and the experience to know how to use it. He (or she) uses his collective positive and negative experiences to arrive at solutions that are both creative and practical. They know the creative process from the big-picture concept down to the nitty-gritty details of production. The industrial designer Dieter Rams influences my design ethos. I strongly identify with his “10 principles to good design.” and believe they can be equally effective in graphic design: Good design . . . • Is innovative • Makes a product useful • Is aesthetic • Is honest • Is unobtrusive • Makes a product understandable • Is long-lasting • Is thorough to the last detail • Is environmentally friendly • Is as little design as possible At the end of the day, I love to eat fresh food and brew my own beer. I find gardening clears my head. I’m a bit reserved until you get to know me. I’m curious about everything. I read tons of non-fiction. I am determined to someday live “off the grid”. I have a dog that thinks it’s cat and a cat that thinks it’s a dog. I’ve also been gifted with a well-endowed sense of humor, essential to anyone in the creative industry.
