Born Christopher John Vigil on July 16, 1990 in Trinidad, Colorado and raised in Denver, Colorado until the age of 11 when SplYt moved back to the place of his birth. Currently resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he attends the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs full-time, majoring in Sport Management.Always infatuated with music, he never actually started pursuing Hip Hop until January 2009. Shorty after, in October, he was approached by Producer and CEO of CAliCO Entertainment - LowLife/DannyDranx with an offer to join the label. Since, the two have been working extensively to put together his Teaser album (Class Dismissed), which was released in January of 2011, his Debut album (The College Kid LP), due out in November 2011, and an un-named SplYt 'N' Darae album with a tentative release date of Summer 2012. All will be fully written by SplYt.Influenced largely by original artists such as Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G., Eminem, Boyz II Men, Ne-Yo, T.I., and Lupe Fiasco, his rhyming styles that vary from song to song, but always convey a sense of compound syllablism, his techniques and talents have been compared to that of Eminem, among other artists. Fully embracing a wide spectrum of musical genres, SplYt has a knack for penning melodies and lyrics for captivating choruses.
