Jeff Campbell VFX Supervisor biography Jeff Campbell is an award winning Visual Effects Supervisor for feature films. His 17 years experience as an animator, compositor, and VFX Supervisor provides the solutions necessary in creating outstanding results.  He has been involved in numerous feature film projects such as Fight Club, X-Men, and The Cell. His Most recent VFX Supervisor endeavors include Screen Gems “Priest”, Columbia Pictures "Battle Los Angeles", Summit Ent. "Twilight-Breaking Dawn". In 1999, at Toybox in Toronto, Jeff led a crew on David Finchers “Fight Club”. In one sequence, He had been asked to create the impact and destruction of a forty-ton ball crashing through a commercial plaza and into a coffee shop. This was accomplished using 3d camera projection techniques, displacements and textured geometry all entirely built and finished in a Discreet Inferno with no additional resources. He had regularly demonstrated his innovative techniques at a NAB as a guest of Discreet Logik (Now Autodesk) Jeff was also Lead Inferno Artist and Sequence Supervisor on New Line Cinema’s “The Cell”; bringing to life the rich unique imagery of director Tarsem Singh’s vibrant vision. One recent high point of his career, Jeff led a team for Sony’s Battle Los Angeles. Involved from the beginning/pre green light phase of the project, the Spin VFX team participated in the full range of visual effects from creature development to shoot supervision. Jeff supervised over 200 shots in various sequences on the post side of the project.  He had started his career as an animator using Strata Studio Pro back in the early 90's switching to Power Animator/Maya of which I have a good working knowledge. He personally uses Flame/Inferno primarily and occasionally NUKE as compositing software, Maya 2010 for 3d software.  He has  experience in UNIX/LINUX/NT o.s. environments.  Feature Film Credits:

Also known as: kylecampbell

I am a self taught software enthusiast who has a specific focus on unix based hosted software systems. As a teenager I learned that understanding web software would present an extraordinary marketing asset for my small event coordination business. You could say my love of software ultimately came as a symtom of my incurable desire to be a successful entrepreneur. Since day one I've continually crafted idea after idea looking for viable businesses on the internet. All along the way I have been perfecting my skills as a entrepreneur first and a software enthusiast second. In late I founded AppLabz which I bootstrapped to profitability by the end of . It has remained profitable to date. The success of this business lead me to start my second business Retsly which is an API for the real estate industry. I make technology choices based on business decisions and have a somewhat idealist mentality when it comes to my preference to only use open software. I adopted the "Hacker" mentality at a young age and feel that for software to be valuable you need to be able to open the hood and poke around. Some of the platforms I work with on a daily basis are Node.js, MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Heroku, Facebook, Twilio, PHP, Python, Bash, Varnish Git
